Cain's Orchard
was established by Kevin & Diane Cain in 1976. We were young,
enthusiastic and energetic with dreams of embarking upon an agricultural
adventure. We were lured to Hixton by the beauty and serenity of the land.
The hills and slopes provide a microclimate with important winter protection
and air drainage for our fruit. The close proximity of our orchard to
I-94, Hwy. 95, and Hwy. 121 would prove to be a favorable location.

Apple Pecan Pie
3 Tbs.
Flour
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon 10 Caramels (cut
in half)
6 Cups Peeled & Sliced Apples
9" Prepared Pie Crust
Topping Mix
1/2 Cup Pecans 1/2 Cup
Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Soft Butter 2 Tbs. Flour
Mix sugar, cinnamon and flour. Toss with apples, set
aside. Cut caramels in half. Make topping mix - set aside. To assemble
pie, put half of the caramels in the bottom of the pie crust, then the
apple mixture, then the rest of the caramels, then the rest of the apple
mixture. Put on topping mix. Bake at 400 until apples are done. (Approx.
40-45 minutes.)
